Resistor Color Codes: How to Read a Resistor with 5 Colored Bands

Resistor color coding is employed for reading the amount of resistance.

The given data sheet provides the chart for reading 5 bands on resistors. 1st, 2nd and 3rd are for the numbers. Whereas the fourth one represents the multiplier and the last one represents the tolerance value.

For example Blue, Green, Red, Black and Gold represent 6. 5. 2. multiplier of 1 and a tolerance of 5%.

Combining all these we achieveĀ 652 ohms with a tolerance of 5%.
