Difference between Open and Short Circuit

In Electrical Engineering the concepts of the open and short circuit are taught at the basic level. In this post, you will learn the difference between both of these.

Open Circuit: An open circuit has zero current because any current flow requires a closed path. On the other hand, an open circuit has infinite resistance.

Short Circuit: A short circuit has infinite current flowing through it because the resistance of a short circuit is zero.
